Goldie Alice Trotter, age 83, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at River’s Bend Health and Rehabilitation in Manitowoc.
Goldie was born October 26, 1940, in Southern Ohio. She attended school at the Ohio Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphans’ Home. She married the late Frank McClary Sr. in 1961 and together they had four children. Goldie then went on to marry the late Robert Trotter in 1988. She worked at Walmart in Dickson, Tennessee, and continued her employment at the Walmart Deli in Manitowoc after moving to Wisconsin in 2007. She retired from Walmart after 20 years of dedicated service. Goldie was known for her kind personality and heart of gold. She was a voracious reader and also enjoyed watching Judge Judy and True Crime shows. She was an avid sports fan and loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and The Cleveland Browns. Goldie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her grand puppies, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Goldie is survived by her three sons: Frank McClary Jr. and Alan McClary (Dawn Daley), all of Manitowoc; and Michael McClary of Two Rivers; three grandchildren: Jonathon McClary (Gina); Danielle McClary; and Nicholas Ryan McClary; one brother-in-law: Dilbert “Dit” Ross; several great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends also survive. She is preceded in death by one daughter: Sherri Rene Beyer; and one sister: Barb Ross.
Cremation has occurred at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory in Manitowoc. A Life Celebration Social will be held for family and friends on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water Street, Manitowoc.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of the Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital and Clinic, the staff at River’s Bend Health and Rehabilitation, the caregivers from HomeCare Health Services, and the staff at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home for all the compassionate care provided to Goldie and her family.
