The uncle of Ethan Hauschultz will finally be going to trial.
According to court records, 54-year-old Timothy Hauschultz will be back in a Manitowoc County courtroom on February 7th for a pre-trial conference.
The trial is scheduled to begin on February 24th.
It’s been six years since Ethan died after allegedly being ordered by Timothy to perform a punishment by carrying a heavy wood log during the winter.
Damian Hauschultz, who was 14 at the time, was convicted of physically abusing Ethan by shoving him to the ground and eventually burying him in the snow.
Ethan eventually died after he was brought to a hospital when he wasn’t responding after being in the snow for hours.
Damian is currently in prison serving a 20-year prison sentence, while another guardian, Tina McKeever-Hauschultz, is on extended supervision.
Timothy hasn’t been on trial because a judge ruled that his trial wouldn’t start until Damian’s appeals to higher courts are ruled on, as Damian would be a witness in Timothy’s case.
