Two bills written by Manitowoc County’s congressman in Washington have moved forward.
Congressman Glenn Grothman announced that the Congressional Budget Office Data Access Act has passed in the US House after going through the Senate.
Grothman and Maryland Democrat Kweisi Mfumeand introduced the bill, which would enhance the efficiency and data collection capacity of the Congressional Budget Office by providing taxpayers with more timely and accurate information on the cost of legislative proposals.
The second bill, the Congressional Budget Office Data Access Act , was also approved by the House Budget Committee.
That bill would provide a more accurate accounting of federal spending by excluding temporary emergency expenditures.
Grothman says of both bills, “I will always prioritize addressing outrageous government spending to help reduce the U.S. debt and its burden on American citizens, their children, and grandchildren.”
