Money from a US Senator’s office will be used to help address the fentanyl and opioid epidemic.
Senator Tammy Baldwin announced that Core Treatment Services in Manitowoc will get $750,000 to establish and expand comprehensive substance use disorder treatment.
Baldwin explained, “My mother struggled with addiction for many years, and I saw firsthand the impact of quality treatment and recovery resources. We can and must do more to combat this epidemic and save lives.”
The funding comes through the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program and aims to expand existing options for treatment and recovery services is rural communities.
Core Treatment will use the money to help other counties including Shawano, Waupaca, Waushara, and Green Lake.
