The 2024 Fall Leaf Pickup in Manitowoc is already underway.
An announcement from Director of Public Infrastructure Dan Koski says city street sweepers will be out for pickup between 6:00 am and 3:00 pm to get leaves that fell in the street.
Because of the leaf pickup there will be a residential parking ban from the same time the sweepers will be out.
Koski also reminds residents that no brush or garden will be picked up, and if your street has a parking lane, leaves should be placed in the parking area the evening before a street sweeping day.
If your street doesn’t have parking lanes, the leaves should continue to be placed on the terrace and away from trees, light poles, or mailboxes.
It’s also important not to park your vehicle over a leaf pile to give crews room to collect them.
The city expects the bulk of the leaf pickup to be between Monday, October 14th through November 22nd depending on the weather.
