A Manitowoc man was recently honored by the American Foundry Society.
At the 2025 Foundry Leadership Summit, David Weiss was presented with the William J. Grede Award.
Weiss is serving as the president of Vision Materials and a partner in Ce-Ri-SS Materials after his retirement from Eck Industries.
He also holds numerous patents for aluminum-cerium alloys and is an expert in magnesium castings.
He is the author of numerous award-winning scientific papers and an international speaker.
The William J. Grede Award is given to foundry industry leaders for major contributions in the fields of management, marketing, or education that have resulted in expanding the effective use of metal castings.
