Those who have chickens are invited to learn more about egg production next weekend.
Country Visions Cooperative and Purina are teaming up to host an event they are calling Flock-Tober, where industry experts will be on hand to help prepare farmers for egg production season.
Ronald Kean, a Poultry Specialist with UW Madison Extension, will be at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 12th, to talk about poultry health and egg production and cycles.
Then, at 10:30 p.m., Taylor Willson, a Sales Specialist with Purina, will talk about nutritional requirements and will have some live animal demonstrations.
Guests can also enter to win a grand prize of twelve 40-pound bags of Layena Hi Protein Poultry Feed or other prizes, including a $25 Country Store gift voucher or up to ten pullet chicks for the spring of 2025.
