The Two Rivers Police Department is working on forming a new unit.
Police Chief Ben Meinnert explained on WOMT’s Be My Guest program last week that they are working to develop a unit for warrants, entries, and investigations in the city.
Meinnert says he’s been talking with Manitowoc Police Chief Nick Reimer about the success of their program.
“There’s a big gap between the severity of the times that you might call out SWAT, for instance, and more the smaller minor that happens in your city,” he said.
“But the truth in the matter is, your community wants something done no matter what.”
Meinnert says the unit would also provide extra opportunities for officers and give the community more services.
