A Notice of Claim has been filed by the man shot by a Sheboygan Police Officer.
Tommie Dixon, the man shot by a Sheboygan Police Officer on September 8th, has submitted the Notice of Claim with his legal counsel, C. Norris Law Group, regarding alleged personal injuries and civil rights violations.
The incident took place near 13th Street and Superior Avenue in Sheboygan after reports of a person waving a gun in the air.
Two officers claim Dixon lunged at and disarmed one of them, which led to the other officer firing upon Dixon.
It has yet to be confirmed if Dixon was indeed the one said to be waving a gun in the air in the area.
The Sheboygan Press has reported that Dixon was shot eight times and that his legal counsel’s efforts to have the body cam footage released have been ignored.
Currently, the West Bend Police Department has been put in charge of the investigation of the incident while Dixon remains in custody recovering from his injuries.
He is due back in court tomorrow (October 9th) for a preliminary hearing.
