More than 40 people in Wisconsin have fallen ill after consuming contaminated eggs, according to a report from the CDC.
The egg recall, which originated from a farm in Bonduel, has affected 42 people in the state and 23 nationwide.
The CDC has now elevated the recall to a Class One level, indicating that the contaminated eggs pose a serious health risk, with the potential to cause severe illness or death.
While no fatalities have been reported, over two dozen people have been hospitalized.
The affected eggs were sold under brands including Milo’s Poultry Farms, M&E Family Farms, and Tony’s Fresh Market.
They also included duck eggs from Happy Quackers Farm.
