Two local tennis tandems advanced to the 2024 WIAA Sectional tournament.
After getting a first-round bye, Manitowoc Lincoln’s Taylor Peterson and Zylia Kleinfeldt cruised past the Oshkosh North team of Emma Niemczyk and Liv Borowitz 6-2, 6-1.
Meanwhile, Madison and Megan Lamers of the Roncalli/Two Rivers Co-op advanced with the same score over Hannah Williams/Sarah Redell of Sheboygan North.
Peterson/Kleinfeldt will face off against Neenah’s Meredith Werner and Sydney Michalkiewicz, while the Lamers will face the Xavier duo of Kat Jannette and Mariel Pante.
Also Advancing was The Ships’ Jordin Popp, who defeated Lily Giesen of Roncalli/Two Rivers 6-0, 6-0.
The Sectional round of the WIAA playoffs will be held at the Fox Cities Racquet Club this Thursday (October 10th) starting at 9:00 a.m.
