This week is National 4-H week and local clubs are celebrating.
As part of the national celebration, Wisconsin 4-H is participating in a statewide service project that looks to help communities across the state.
The project also aims to include youth voices and decision-making in the process. This year’s National 4-H Week is all about community, creativity, and connection.
Locally, Manitowoc County 4-H has been participating in social media engagement contests and held its 4-H Family Fun Night at the Expo Center on Tuesday (October 8th).
National 4-H week this year means a bit more for one local this year as well.
Manitowoc County 4-H Educator Katrina Pionek spoke with Seehafer News, noting that “Manitowoc County is celebrating the 100 anniversary of a 4-H club. Liberty Go Getters 4-H Club started in 1924 and was the first 4-H club here in Manitowoc County.”
So, while the celebration is happening nationwide, local clubs like the Liberty Go Getters are celebrating not just a week but a century of work done by the community’s 4-H members.
