Four people from Campbellsport are facing numerous charges after over 100 deer were killed or mistreated.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt explained in a press release that three 16-year-old men and one 36-year-old woman would drive around late at night and into the early morning, shoot a deer, and identify the gender before leaving it to die and rot.
Some heads of bucks were sawed off as well if they had big antlers.
The four are also accused of driving around and intentionally hitting deer in the roadway.
One incident had the four picking up a wounded deer and placing it in a trunk while they were taking selfies and videos.
One video also shows them carrying a live deer while inside their home that had been hurt before.
The teens and women are also accused of harassing other wildlife like geese, raccoons, possums, and turtles.
Waldschmidt described the accusations as “senseless, reckless, and indiscriminate.”
The sheriff thanked the Wisconsin DNR for their diligent and collaborative efforts in their investigation.
