Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) announced that their 2023 financial report, which is already overdue, is expected to be submitted to the state by Thanksgiving.
The district has repeatedly missed the state’s deadlines, with the report originally due last year.
As a result, MPS has already lost $42 million in funding and risks losing an additional $40 million if the delay continues.
Superintendent Eduardo Galvan cited outdated technology and insufficient staff training as the main reasons for the delay.
He also indicated that the 2024 financial reports might face similar delays.
