A majority of Wisconsin’s public schools will receive increased financial support from the state this year, as reported by the Department of Public Instruction yesterday.
Approximately two-thirds of schools are slated for more funding, while around one-third will experience a decrease.
The state is distributing a total of over $5.5 billion in general aid to local schools.
Milwaukee Public Schools is among those receiving reduced aid, partly due to issues with the district’s financial reporting and record keeping.
