The doubles tandem of senior Zylia Kleinfeldt and Junior Taylor Peterson advanced to the second round of the Division One bracket in the WIAA State Girls Individual Tennis Tournament in Madison on Thursday afternoon.
They picked up a straight-set 6-1,6-0 victory over Junior Nora Lonergan and freshman Ellie Kotendick from Oak Creek.
Zylia and Taylor improved to 24 and 4 on the year and advanced to play seniors Audrey Jayne and Mia Darr from University School in Milwaukee on Friday at 9 a.m.
Meanwhile, junior Jordin Popp had a great season come to an end after falling to senior Mia Miller of Notre Dame (Green Bay) 6-1 and 6-4.
Jordin ends the season with a record of 21 and 7.
Senior Madison Lamers and Sophomore Megan Lamers of Roncalli/Two Rivers play their first-round match late Thursday afternoon against seniors Taylor Pressler and Ally Quaschnick of Eau Claire North.
