The Manitowoc Public School District might not close their Central Office after all.
A memorandum from Interim Superintendent Lee Thennes says that the administration is requesting that the board either delay or rescind its vote to relocate the Central Office, which took place in July.
Thennes continued saying the district started the process of collecting and reviewing data which shows it would create considerable costs to the district moving expenses and infrastructure update, which could be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The interim superintendent is also concerned about the loss of efficiency and collaboration of the team.
The school board voted unanimously to put a hold on moving staff from the district office to other schools in the building.
It was part of the district’s facilities plan to try to show staff what fixes are needed in each of the schools.
