The Appleton Police Department announced that two sex offenders will be released within the next few weeks.
An announcement on Facebook explains that Edmund L. Fraser will be released next Tuesday (October 22nd) while Paul P. Schmidt is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, November 5th.
Fraser was convicted of 2nd-degree sexual assault of a child, possession of child pornography, 3rd-degree sexual assault, and 4th-degree sexual assault.
Schmidt is convicted of 1st-degree sexual assault of a child and tampering with a GPS Tracking Device.
Fraser will temporarily live in the 500 block of West College Avenue, while Schmidt will be moving temporarily to the 600 block of Superior Street.
Appleton Police say both men are not wanted at this time, and the notification is not meant to increase fear; rather, it is meant to inform the public so it’s safer.
They also remind residents that any harassment or threat from the public will not be tolerated.
