Senior Zylia Kleinfeldt and Junior Taylor Peterson of Manitowoc Lincoln, along with senior Madison Lamers and her sister Megan Lamers of Roncalli/Two Rivers, have been eliminated from Madison’s WIAA State Girls Individual Tennis Tournament.
The talented Ships duo ran into a buzzsaw Friday morning, losing to seniors Aubrey Jayne and Mia Darr of the University School of Milwaukee 6-0, 6-1 in the second round of The Division One Doubles bracket.
They finished their season with a record of 24 and 5.
The Lamers sisters also lost to a seeded team from Arrowhead as seniors Jacquelyn Cox and Lily Schulz posted a 6-1,6-4 victory.
Madison and Megan finished their season with a record of 19 and 7.
Lincoln Junior Jordin Popp lost her opening round match in Division One singles Thursday, finishing her season with a record of 21 and 7.
