Area employers were recognized by Ascend Services at its Employer Recognition Reception.
The reception took place at Sabbatical Brewing in conjunction with National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Awards are given out to several businesses that participate in the Ascend Services Workforce Solutions Program.
The reception also included awards for businesses that support Ascend’s mission, including Schwartz Manufacturing, Parker Hannifin Parflex Division, and the Kaysun Corporation.
The Most Empowering Business awards went to Goodwill Industries, Alliance Laundry Systems, and Parker Hannifin. Businesses that won the Inspiring Work Culture awards were Woodland Dunes Nature Center, Carron Net Company, and Alpha Baking Company.
Ascend Executive Director Deanna Genske explained, “We want to spread the important message that we value all perspectives, especially those of individuals with disabilities. Our vision is to be the number one resource and connection between employers and the people we serve. Our passion is to help people determine their career goals and help them achieve them!”
