Previous charges filed against the two arrested in Elijah Vue’s death have been dismissed.
According to court records, Judge Robert Dewane approved the dismissal of both cases now that new charges have been filed against 39-year-old Jesse Vang, Elijah’s guardian, and his mother 31-year-old Katrina Baur.
Vang is now facing charges of physical abuse to a child cause death, hiding a corpse, and obstruction while Baur faces new charges of chronic neglect of a child, consequence is death, neglecting a child, and two counts of obstruction.
Both are due in court today (October 21st) for their initial appearance on the new charges. They were both given significantly higher bonds with the new charges.
Vang got a half million-dollar cash bond while Baur got a $400,000 cash bond.
Elijah was first reported missing from Vang’s Two Rivers apartment back on February 20th.
His remains were found in the Town of Two Rivers in September, about three miles away from Vang’s apartment.
A forensic scientist ruled that Elijah death “was homicide by unspecified means.”
