A farm in Two Rivers has been announced as a recipient of a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The LondonDairy Alpacas farm has received over $20,000 in funding through the USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP).
With the funding, LondonDairy Alpacas will install a small solar electric array, saving them an estimated $1,800 in energy costs per year.
The project will also replace 14,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, which is enough to power one home.
This REAP grant is part of the latest $126 million announced by the Biden-Harris Administration in an effort to expand access to clean energy, create jobs, and lower energy costs for rural businesses.
Funding for REAP grants has been made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act.
