The multi-year Interstate 41 improvement project is now underway.
Construction on I-41, which spans 14.2 miles in Fond du Lac and Winnebago Counties, began yesterday (October 21st).
The $25.9 million project will stretch from County Road D in Fond du Lac County to Wisconsin Highway 26 in Winnebago County.
The interstate will remain open with lane closures occurring in the nighttime hours as work is being done.
Typical closure times will be weekdays between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. northbound and between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. southbound.
The project improvements will include structure maintenance on ten bridges, asphalt milling and paving, culvert work, and more.
In 2024 specifically, culvert extensions and preparation work for 2025 will be done.
Work on I-41 is expected to be completed in October of 2025.
