Two people have been arrested for an assault on a child.
Manitowoc Police Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of South 8th Street after receiving a report of an assault with a metal pipe.
The victim told an officer that they had gotten into a physical altercation with a 17-year-old girl with whom they have a history.
The verbal altercation turned physical when the 17-year-old punched the victim several times before her boyfriend approached.
The 22-year-old man went into the trunk of his vehicle, grabbed a metal pipe, and struck the victim in a “sensitive location.”
The male suspect’s vehicle was located a few blocks away, and a five-foot pipe was located in the trunk.
The man admitted to the assault and called his girlfriend out of a nearby home.
She also admitted to attacking the victim, and both were arrested.
The man has been charged with Resisting or Obstructing an Officer and Disorderly Conduct, while the female has been charged with Battery, Physical Abuse of a Child, and Disorderly Conduct.
