Sheboygan’s 2024 Citizen Fire Academy has come to an end.
Nine individuals have graduated following the seven-week program held by the Sheboygan Fire Department.
In the program’s fourth year, the nine participants included a Sheboygan Police and Fire Commissioner, high school students, and individuals exploring career options.
The Citizen’s Fire Academy dives into fire safety and emergency response, and this year, the highlight of the program was technical rescue.
This involved using hands-on use of extraction tools, which are often used following car accidents.
Other work done by this year’s participants included search and rescue operations and EMS response.
The Sheboygan Fire Department thanked everyone involved over the last seven weeks who made this year’s Citizens Fire Academy another success.
