Ann Jacobs, the chairwoman of Wisconsin’s Elections Commission, urges voters to remain patient with poll workers during this busy election period.
She addressed the issue on Twitter, asking people to be understanding as local clerks and poll workers are handling a surge in early voters.
The long wait times are partly due to high early voting turnout.
Jacobs pointed out that delays are occurring mainly because of label printing for in-person absentee ballots but reassured that clerks can always handwrite the information if that speeds up the process.
