Recent social media posts reporting attempted kidnappings have caused law enforcement in Outagamie County to respond.
The social media posts claim that female drivers have been approached by people in pickup trucks who then threaten the women with a gun.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office has released a statement stating that they haven’t received any credible reports of such incidents and have also not been contacted by any victims.
For this reason, authorities in Outagamie County do not believe these social media reports to be credible.
The Hortonville Police Department responded similarly to the posts, labeling them as uncredible.
Despite this, the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office and Hortonville PD have stated they will have extra deputies and officers on patrol simply as a precaution.
Both law enforcement agencies have asked the public to report any suspicious behavior immediately if observed.
