The man charged in the death of Elijah Vue has a preliminary hearing scheduled.
39-year-old Jesse Vang was back in Manitowoc County Court this afternoon (October 24th) with his new lawyer.
He will return to court on November 6th.
Whether the hearing will be waived is not yet known.
Vang was the person who reported Elijah missing back on February 20th.
After months of searching, the missing toddler’s remains were found in the Town of Two Rivers last month and new charges were given to Vang and Elijah’s mother, Katrina Baur.
Elijah’s death was ruled in a criminal complaint as “homicide by unspecified means.”
Vang is facing a life sentence if he’s convicted of physical assault to a child causing death, hiding a corpse, and obstruction.
Baur is scheduled to be back in court next Wednesday (October 30th).
She’s facing charges of chronic neglect of a child, consequence is death, neglecting a child, and two counts of obstruction.
She could get up to 60 years if convicted.
