Several area high school girls’ tennis teams hope to bring home a gold ball from the WIAA State Team Tennis Tournament, which begins this afternoon in Madison.
Two teams from northeast Wisconsin will meet in the Division One quarterfinals, as four-seed Notre Dame (Green Bay) will battle five-seed Neenah at 4 p.m.
The winner advances to the semifinals on Saturday at 9 a.m.
The Division Two Semifinals are on Saturday at 9 a.m., with three-seed Kohler battling two-seed Aquinas (La Crosse).
A Kohler victory would advance them to the final against top-seed Brookfield Academy or Newman Catholic (Wausau).
