A trail closure at Woodland Dunes has been fixed.
Executive Director Sue Crowley explained on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that the Cattail Boardwalk was closed for four weeks but is now reopened and even better than before.
“We had a great group of folks from an organization called WisCorps,” she explained. “A group of six folks that were tearing down and rebuilding part of our Cattail Trail. So, we’ve got about 500 new feet of boardwalk.”
The area is now safer and more accessible for anyone who visits.
Crowley says now they just need people to visit and check it out. Woodland Dunes also announced back in September that the Yellow Birch Trail was closed until further notice.
There are other projects going on around the area including the Forget-Me-Not Creek remodeling project.
The project will give visitors a better experience by recreating more complex microsites for fish and enhancing the overall quality of the area.
