The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) has reminded drivers to stay alert for deer along roadways.
Crashes involving deer typically increase in October and November as more deer move around during their peak mating season.
Along with their reminder, the DOT also gave their deer-related crash data from 2023.
Last year, 14 individuals were killed, and 585 more were injured during 16,000 car accidents involving deer throughout the state.

Waukesha County saw the most, with 836.
Deer are most active during the early morning and evening hours, and drivers are asked to use headlights and stay alert to avoid a deer-related crash.
