A man convicted for an Appleton homicide has been sentenced but with a chance at parole.
WFRV reports that 39-year-old Yia Lor was found guilty in the shooting death of 56-year-old Paul Rhoads in January of last year.
Lor was sentenced to life in prison and will have to serve a minimum of 40 years before he will get his first chance at parole.
Appleton Police were called to the 1200 block of Briarcliff Drive and found Rhoads lying in the middle of the road. Rhoads was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Lor was identified as a person of interest and was arrested after a high-risk traffic stop with Sheboygan Police when he tried to evade officers.
This led to a collision involving multiple vehicles and ended with Lor crashing into two homes.
