The Brown County man who shot at teens for egging his house in May has a trial date scheduled.
FOX11 reports that 19-year-old Jackson Rego has had a trial date set for March 5th after shooting at the two teens, striking one.
As we previously reported, the then-18-year-old Rego is accused of resorting to the use of a firearm to scare off teens who were throwing eggs at his home in Pittsfield.
Rego told authorities he fired a “warning shot” at the teens using an AR-15.
The 16-year-old shot was hit in the ribs as he stood through a vehicle’s sunroof.
Rego has been charged with 1st Degree Reckless Injury and 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, each with the Use of a Dangerous Weapon, and Endangering Safety with the Reckless Use of a Firearm.
The trial date was set after no agreement could be reached during a plea hearing.
Another plea hearing is scheduled for January 3rd, and if no agreement is made there, the March trial date will be used.
