Beach and public access for pets has grown in the City of Sheboygan.
The Sheboygan Common Council met inside the council chambers on Monday (November 4th) and one item of discussion included this recommendation from the Public Works Committee.
The council approved expanding beach access for pets in a unanimous vote.
With the approval, pets will now be allowed, off-leash, on the beach area north of North Point Overlook between the Sheboygan Water Utility facility and the Wisconsin Maritime Historical Marker.
They will also now be permitted, on a leash, on the North Point Overlook pedestrian path.
While discussing the matter, Sheboygan Alder Grazia Perrella said, “It’s a small addition but I’m very happy about it, so I hope we receive many more additions in the future.”
