Sheboygan’s Public Works Committee is set to discuss and possibly approve a final concept plan for Fountain Park.
At the Common Council meeting on Monday (November 4th), they referred approval to the Public Works Committee.
Earlier this year, the city determined changes had to be made to the historic Fountain Park due to deteriorating infrastructure and design flaws.
City staff and Parkitecture and Planning have been working throughout 2024 to design concept plans for what the park’s future may look like.
Parkitecture and Planning was chosen for designing the park, in large part, due to their work in revitalizing Central Park West in Two Rivers. With interviews from stakeholders, public info sessions with the public, and construction cost estimates, one of three concept plans has been determined to be preferred.
This concept aims to increase the activation of the park, replace or renovate the fountain, cater to multiple age groups, and much more.
Concept design images of what Fountain Park may look like in the future can be found online at sheboyganwi.gov.
The Public Works Committee is set to discuss and make a decision on the concept plan at their next meeting which is scheduled for next week.
