Per the latest report, nearly all crime in the City of Oshkosh continues to fall.
The Oshkosh Police Department has put out its crime statistics from October, with the numbers showing substantial decreases in most major crime categories.
Last month, there was one homicide and 58 simple assault cases, the only two types of crime that have seen an increase compared to this time last year.
Through October last year, there were two homicides and 398 simple assaults, however, this year there have been five and 402 such cases respectively.
Both robbery and sex offenses have seen the biggest decrease, both down 28 percent in 2024.
Other notable decreases include motor vehicle theft and burglary, down 23.7 and 19.3 percent, respectively.
Arson, theft, and aggravated assault are also down in 2024.
The City of Oshkosh also saw 15 OWI arrests and 57 drug or narcotic offenses last month.
Each month, the Oshkosh Police Department releases its monthly crime statistics, and for the second straight time, the numbers show that crime rates as a whole are on the decline.
