There was a high local voter turn out for Tuesday’s election.
Manitowoc County Clerk Jessica Backus reports that 46,560 people cast a ballot in the county, which is 72% of the 64,308 eligible voters.
The Town of Manitowoc Rapids reported the highest percentage of eligible voters participating, with 92%, while the City of Manitowoc had 17,410 voters, which is 63.5% of eligible voters.
In Two Rivers, just shy of 68% of eligible voters cast a ballot.
The countywide numbers are slightly higher than in 2020, when 44,973 residents voted, which equates to roughly 70% of eligible voters.
