The longtime president of Roncalli Catholic Schools in Manitowoc is calling it a career.
In a letter to the public, John Stelzer revealed that he has submitted his plans to retire on June 30th of 2025, which also marks the end of his current contract.
He said in the letter, “After several years of prayer and discernment, I have come to the conclusion that it is time to enter another phase of my life journey. I appreciate the support I have received and feel blessed to be part of the Roncalli Community. I am very proud of our school, its mission, and the many lives that Roncalli has positively impacted.”
He also thanked the “many dedicated colleagues that I have had the privilege of serving with over these past 40 years.”
The search for the next president of Roncalli Catholic Schools begins in earnest as the President Search Committee is being formed, led by Dr. Becky Walker, the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Green Bay, and Dr. Matthew Culligan, the Roncalli Board of Trustees Chair.
The public is encouraged to share their input by taking a community input survey shared by the Diocese.
