A former high school basketball coach at Ripon has been arrested for sexual misconduct with a minor.
WBAY reports that Mihai Schnell-Harrison, former boys varsity basketball coach, was arrested by the Ripon Police Department on Tuesday.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has referred charges of sexual assault of a minor by a person who works or volunteers with children, exposing a child to harmful material, and child enticement to the county’s District Attorney’s Office.
An official criminal complaint has yet to be filed, so these charges may change.
The Ripon Area School District released a statement following his arrest.
They stated that the safety of all students and staff remains their top priority.
Schnell-Harrison first worked as an assistant coach for the basketball team before taking the same role with Waupun and Appleton East and then returning to Ripon as head coach for one year.
