A traffic stop for an invalid driver’s license turned into a drug bust over the weekend.
The Manitowoc Police Department reports that an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Kwik Trip parking lot on South 10th Street just before 10:00 Sunday night when the officer spotted a vehicle belonging to a woman with an active warrant for her arrest.
The officer also learned that the 30-year-old woman also had a revoked driver’s license.
The woman was seen putting items into a backpack and placing it in the back seat, and a tin foil bindle, known to be used in drug use, was seen in her wallet.
She was also showing signs of drug impairment, leading to K9 Riley being called to the scene.
A search of the vehicle and backpack uncovered multiple drugs, drug paraphernalia and a concealed knife.
The woman was promptly arrested on charges of Possession of Cocaine, Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, and Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying a Concealed Knife, Felony Bail Jumping, and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
