Brown County Public Health Department is warning residents of a recent recall of carrots.
Grimmway Farms has recalled 35 brands of organic carrots and baby carrots, which may be contaminated with E. coli.
While the carrots are no longer in stores, it is possible the carrots may be in a consumer’s refrigerators or freezers.
Recalled organic whole carrots were available for purchase from August 14th through October 23rd.
The organic baby carrots recalled will have a best-if-used-by date, which ranges from September 11th through November 12th.
Some of the 35 brand names of the recalled carrots include Nature’s Promise, Trader Joe’s, and Cal-Organic.
The recalled carrots were shipped nationwide to major retailers, including Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Target, Sprouts, and others.
Symptoms of E. coli include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, fever, nausea, or vomiting.
