The National Weather Service has issued both Winter Weather and Wind Advisories for the lakeshore and all of northeast Wisconsin, which will definitely impact the Thursday morning commute.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday morning, while a Wind Advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.
Wet snow is expected late Wednesday night, mixing with and changing to rain by mid-morning Thursday.
Total snow accumulation of 2 to 3 inches will create slippery and slushy driving conditions on untreated roads.
Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution, as this is the first round of snow accumulation this season.
Meanwhile, winds are expected to blow consistently out of the north-northeast at 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour during the Advisory period.
Gusty winds can make driving complex, especially for high-profile vehicles. Motorists are advised to take extreme caution.
Gusty winds will blow unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down, and isolated power outages may result.
