An eight-year-old boy tragically died after being hit by a family member’s vehicle near Milwaukee yesterday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the incident on North Pelican Lane in River Hills at approximately 7:45 a.m.
According to the police chief, the boy had been waiting for the school bus at the end of a long driveway when he unexpectedly stepped in front of the car.
Authorities are calling the incident a “freak accident,” pointing out that poor visibility due to winter weather conditions likely contributed to the tragedy.
