A competency exam has been ordered for the man charged following a deadly hit and run in Oconto County.
Obilio Tomas Sargento Roblero was in court Wednesday (November 20th) for a status conference where his legal counsel requested the competency exam on behalf of his client.
The court obliged and approved the exam, which means Roblero must be evaluated to determine whether he can understand the legal proceedings and assist in his defense.
Roblero has been charged with Hit and Run, Causing Death for his alleged role in the incident that took place in the Town of Gillet.
Roblero has been accused of striking Tom Roberts with his SUV.
Roberts was assisting a UTV driver who was experiencing issues.
Roberts, a retired detective with the Green Bay Police Department, died of his injuries.
Roblero’s $1 million cash bond remains unposted.
He will return to court on December 18th for another status conference, during which the results of his competency exam will be revealed.
