A chiropractic clinic in Two Rivers has been recognized by the Chamber of Manitowoc County.
A ribbon cutting was held at Bump and Beyond Family Wellness in coordination with the chamber’s Holiday Hop event yesterday afternoon (November 21st).
Dr. Nadine Illichmann worked as a bookkeeper at her father’s automotive shop before getting a job as a chiropractic assistant.
At the age of 32, she decided to go back to college to get her doctorate.
She explained that her practice is special because it focuses on all members of the family, including women who are pregnant.
Illichmann tells SeehaferNews.com that even though some might not suffer from pain, the spine houses the nerve system in your body, and if something isn’t working right, an adjustment can make a difference over time.
However, there is a difference between working with an adult and working with a child.
“Some people prefer a manual adjustment, where you get some popping and clicking and things like that,” she explained. “But some people are uncomfortable with that. So I use different techniques. I use the drop table which works using gravity. I use Activator. I’m trained in Cranial Sacral Therapy, which only requires a very light touch.”
Illichmann says Cranial Sacral Therapy is great for babies who can have issues.
She says if patients come in, they can expect a very calming experience.
“It’s set up for families, it’s set up for kids,” she stated. “We have toys and it’s very family based. And I feel like it’s cozy. I have a lot of people that come in and the first thing they do is take off their shoes because they feel so comfortable.”
Bump and Beyond Family Wellness is located on Memorial Drive in a former brick bank and marine building.
Illichmann says she has two rooms right now but hopes to expand further in the future.
