Two individuals are in custody after a traffic stop turned into a drug-related case in Fond du Lac County.
A deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office conducted the traffic stop on November 19th, just before 10:00 p.m., on Interstate 41 in the township of Byron.
In the initial contact with the two men in the car, the deputy quickly detected the smell of marijuana.
The two individuals in the vehicle were identified as a 46-year-old Oshkosh man, the driver, and a 43-year-old Stevens Point man.
Both men had warrants for their arrest and were found to have extensive, drug-related crime histories.
Subsequently, the vehicle was searched, and deputies located 129 grams of cocaine, 21.4 grams of marijuana, 6.6 grams of ecstasy, various prescription pills, cash, and an extended magazine 9mm pistol.
Both men were taken into custody and remain in the Fond du Lac County Jail.
The driver was given a $15,000 cash bond, while the passenger’s was set at $10,000.
The two are facing a long list of drug charges, including but not limited to Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Designer Drugs, Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, and Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescription Drugs.
