During one of the most hectic travel weeks of the year, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation reminds motorists to stay safe.
While the day before Thanksgiving is considered the busiest travel day throughout the country, the days following are also quite active as people return home.
According to AAA, nearly 1.9 million Wisconsinites will be traveling throughout the week.
After Thanksgiving Eve, peak travel times are Friday between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m., Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The DOT is encouraging drivers in Wisconsin to slow down, buckle up, and plan for congested roadways following Thanksgiving.
Motorists are advised to visit 511wi.gov before hitting the road for real-time road conditions, travel times, construction projects, and more.
