Plymouth’s Nutt Ski Hill will be reopening following a decade-long closure.
The Plymouth Common Council has approved a five-year lease agreement with Cheese Capital Winter Park (CCWP) to reopen and once again operate Nutt Hill as a winter sports park beginning next season.
Nutt Ski Hill has not been used for organized winter recreation since February of 2014, but that will change after the Common Council’s decision.
Nutt Hill is set to offer snowboarding, skiing, and tubing opportunities with six tubing runs and additional runs for skiers and snowboarders.
CCWP is still fundraising; however, they have already raised $1.8 million of the $2.2 million estimated cost for the work needed to be done to reopen the hill.
CCWP’s five-year lease begins on January 1st, and they will have the opportunity to renew this lease for up to three additional terms.
The Plymouth Common Council unanimously approved the lease, paving the way for the return of a former winter staple in the area.
