The Sheboygan Department of Public Works is reminding residents of proper trash and recycling collection practices.
During non-collection days, bins must be placed in a garage or on the side of a residence.
Trash and recycling receptacles are not permitted in the front or street side of a home.
Receptacles must also be set out by 7:30 a.m. on collection day, regardless of when your trash is collected.
Additionally, bins must be removed from the curb or alley by 6:00 p.m. on collection day.
The Sheboygan DPW has also provided tips on correctly setting out garbage cans to prevent missed collections.
Residents are asked to place garbage bins parallel to the roadway, alley, or driveway to be collected.
Bins are not permitted in the streets and must be four feet away from trees, mailboxes, or parked vehicles.
Lastly, they shared that garbage and recycling collections do not halt during snowstorms unless the City specifically announces a delay in services.
