A former Manitowoc County Board Supervisor has passed away.
According to County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer, two-term board member Laurie B. Burke of Two Rivers passed away on November 24th.
She represented District 25 in Two Rivers from 2010 to 2016 and served on the Human Services Board until this year.
According to her obituary, Burke was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, but graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers before getting her degree as a Licensed Practicing Nurse from Lakeshore College.
She held positions in the local AFSCME Local S1288 and was a Grace Congregational United Church of Christ member.
A celebration of her life will be held soon. Ziegelbauer also says flags around the county will be flown at half-staff on December 9th.
